OF ETHICS
It is the responsibility of all members
of the procurement and materiel management community to conduct
themselves in a manner that brings credit to them and their profession.
Members of the MMI shall not use their authority
or office for personal gain, and shall seek to uphold and enhance
the standing of the materiel management profession, the Government
of Canada and the Institute by:
- maintaining an unimpeachable standard
of integrity in all business relationships, both inside and outside
their organizations;
- fostering the highest standards of professional
competence amongst their employees and/or colleagues;
- optimizing the use of resources for which
they are responsible so as to yield optimum benefit to the Government
of Canada;
- promoting sound environmental practices;
- complying with the letter and the spirit of: the laws of Canada
and the country in which members practice; guidance on professional
practice that may be issued by the MMI from time to time; and
contractual obligations;
- rejecting and denouncing any business
practice that is not consistent with the foregoing precepts.
