PWGSC: Acquisition Branch
The Client Engagement Sector's (CES) mandate is to support and assist departments in improving their procurement processes and practices. CES provides a single point of contact for Acquisition Branch clients and provides a wide range of services and tools that help departments manage their procurement activities. PWGSC: Industrial Security Sector
The Industrial Security Sector of PWGSC is responsible for the Canadian government's Industrial Security Program (ISP), and carries out many functions related to contract security and controlled goods.

The Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD) is responsible for administering the Controlled Goods component of the Industrial Security Program. The CGD is legislated by the Defence Production Act and the Controlled Goods Regulations. The CGD directly supports public safety and security by ensuring that controlled goods and/or controlled technology are protected against unauthorized and harmful access while in the custody of private sector companies. The Program does this by regulating the examination, possession and transfer in Canada of controlled goods and/or controlled technology. Anyone who deals with controlled goods and/or controlled technology in Canada is required to register with the CGD.

The Contract Security component of the ISP is administered by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD) and the International Industrial Security Directorate (IISD). These directorates provide a number of services in support of industrial security, and Canadian objectives of public safety, national security, and economic prosperity. Pursuant to the Policy on Government Security, the Contract Security Program provides contract security clauses (terms and conditions) on contractual documents, registers and screens private sector organizations and their personnel, and ensures the security and safeguarding of protected and classified government assets by conducting physical security inspections of private sector organizations.
